I’m Eva, a crazy dog mom who drinks way too much coffee and can’t stop posting dog pics.
I know that being a first-time dog mom can be super exciting and terrifying at the same time!
There’s a lot of unknowns and new stuff comes up at every turn. You might wonder, am I doing things right, is my dog happy?
Over the past fifteen years being around dogs, I learned a lot and I still search for information constantly. Today I want to write them all down and if I can help even one dog owner, my mission is completed.
Having two rescue dogs at the moment I didn’t have clear guidelines when it came to traits of breeds. It all came down to getting to know my doggos by spending time with them.
Dogs can be textbook examples of their breed or something different. Breed matters to some degree but dogs also have their personalities.
By spending time with your doggo you get to know your dog’s personality.
Scientists have shown that distinct breed traits are rooted in a dog’s genes. Trainability, chasing, and a tendency to be aggressive toward strangers are the most highly heritable traits.
No matter what kind of dog you have, I’m here for you!
As a new dog owner, safety tips are the key for you, your dog, and everyone around you. Knowing how to keep yourself and your dog safe, you both will be much more joyful and content!
How this site got started
This site started after me and my husband found our second rescue dog, Aramis.
Aramis sat quietly in a metal cage in a dog rescue center with another dog that barked constantly. Aramis was six months old, with big brown eyes, huge pointy ears, and a pink spot on his nose as a mark of being a bull terrier mix.
Love at first sight!
I couldn’t believe he was still there.
Aramis had been in the rescue center his whole little life.
We got the chance to be alone with him in a fenced yard at the rescue center and he just walked straight into our arms and loved the attention.
We got started with the adoption papers immediately.
Our older rescue dog fell in love with his baby brother and they have fun together every day!
I write about safety in the dog world. Soon I will also review dog products for you. I want you and your dog to live a safe and happy life together in this crazy and wonderful world!
